What is Baptism?
What is Baptism?

If you have recently decided to follow Jesus or rededicate your relationship with God, water baptism is your next step in your faith journey. As an outward expression of your inward decision to let your old life die so you can be raised to new life with Christ, water baptism is a significant moment that will serve as a reminder that the old is gone and the new has come!

How do I get baptized?

Please let us know about your decision to get baptized by filling out our Next Steps Card during the service and drop it off at the VIP table. Then, a member of our discipleship team will get in touch with you to discuss logistics and share some resources about baptism.

“And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 3:21 NLT

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I be baptized if I was sprinkled as a child?

Yes! Childhood sprinkling is a beautiful ceremony, and it was your parents’ way of dedicating you to the faith. The Bible teaches that water baptism should be done by immersion and by people who are making a free will decision with their full consciousness to follow Christ and to live for Him forever.

Can children be water baptized?

Yes! Children can be baptized once they reach the ability to make the decision for themselves, and if their parent/guardian feels as if they understand the decision they’re making.

Do you Christen babies?

While we do not sprinkle babies, we do follow the Biblical example of baby dedications, whereby a parent makes a free will decision to dedicate their child unto the Lord and makes a covenant before the Lord and his/her church family to raise their child in the ways of the Lord as outlined by the Bible and to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. We host child dedication services regularly. If you would like to register for our next child/baby dedication, please use the button below.
