Well, here we go! Are you ready? We are and Crystal and I are so proud of you for taking this step towards greater intimacy, authority and holiness in your life. Before we begin the fast, please read this page with physical and spiritual warnings aboutwhat we are all up against. I want us all fully prepared and staying safe and alert. http://www.ihopkc.org/about/
will begin our corporate devotionals and Bible Study, SOUL FOOD, on
Monday. On our first day, I want us to pray this prayer: Let us hunger and thirst for more of you, God.
Here are Scriptures to fill our "stomachs" with. Perhaps, you can memorize one or two today!
My soul is crushed with longing After Your ordinances at all times.
At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.
My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
I stretch out my hands to You; My soul longs for You, as a parched land. Selah.
"Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord GOD, "When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the LORD.
Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
"Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost.
"Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
Then He said to me, "It is done I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come " And let the one who hears say, "Come " And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.
A great worship song to belt out loud or meditate on that goes along with this prayer is Come to River
Please know Crystal and I along with the elder board are praying for each of you as you start your journey, and we are here as you need us. Expect the Lord to speak to you, journal your experience, and ask Him to give you the strength and faith to follow through on what you feel compelled to fast.
We are building an altar together!
